About the Opportunity

Join the National Rural Youth Service Corps (NARYSEC) Programme, designed to uplift young individuals in rural areas through comprehensive skills development, training, and community service. Aligned with the National Development Plan (Vision 2030), this programme aims to cultivate skilled rural youth, enhance economic participation, and support youth-led initiatives. Participants will engage in a 9-week induction and Youth Leadership Development Programme, followed by hands-on training and community service.

Key Responsibilities

Participants will receive training in one of the following fields:
– Firefighter Trainee
– Traffic Officer Trainee

Requirements/Qualifications

To qualify, applicants must:
– Be aged between 18 and 35 years
– Hold a Grade 12 certificate or NQF Level 4
– Reside within Johannes Phumani Phungula Local Municipality
– Be unemployed and not currently studying
– Have no criminal record
– Be medically fit (physical assessment required)
– Possess a valid driver’s license (Code B for Traffic Officer)
– Achieve a minimum of 40% in English and Mathematics Literacy
– Be willing to undergo training away from home

Preference will be given to those whose highest qualification is Grade 12, although post-matric qualifications may be considered.
