What You’ll Do

  • Supervise and manage forensic pathology services while coordinating with healthcare teams.
  • Execute medical duties proficiently while supporting the institution’s objectives for patient care.
  • Accept responsibility for managing patients within a level 2/3 package of service facility.
  • Assist in preparing and implementing clinical guidelines and protocols.
  • Participate in academic and training programs to promote ongoing professional development.
  • Conduct clinical audits and contribute to maintaining high standards of patient care.
  • Engage with hospital management to ensure efficient service delivery.
  • Comply with the Performance Management and Development System, conducting quarterly reviews and assessments.

What You’ll Need

  • Appropriate qualifications for registration with the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA) as a Medical Specialist in Forensic Pathology.
  • A valid work permit for non-South Africans.
  • Sound knowledge of medical ethics and the ability to work within multidisciplinary teams.
  • Minimum of one year of relevant experience after registration with HPCSA or recognized foreign qualifications.
  • Strong clinical skills in assessments, consultations, and management.
  • Ability to work independently, under pressure, and engage effectively with diverse teams.
  • Good communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills, along with stress tolerance and self-confidence.
  • Knowledge of current health policies, legislation, and programs relevant to the domain.
