What You’ll Do

  • Manage dosimetry, quality assurance, and radiation protection functions in Nuclear Medicine.
  • Participate in routine medical physics tasks and provide support in Radiology.
  • Assist with the preparation, evaluation, and acceptance of medical equipment tenders.
  • Utilize software packages for gamma cameras and PET reconstruction.
  • Conduct quality assurance across the divisional network of imaging systems.
  • Support training programs for Medical Physics and Nuclear Medicine Divisions.
  • Engage in research and development efforts within the Medical Physics Division.

What You’ll Need

  • An appropriate qualification for registration as a Medical Physicist with the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA).
  • Current registration with the HPCSA as a Medical Physicist.
  • No prior experience required post-registration for Grade 1.
  • Willingness to work after hours as needed.
  • Strong knowledge and skills in the field of medical physics, particularly in nuclear medicine.
  • Ability to work independently and manage projects efficiently.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal relationship skills.
  • Thorough understanding of the physics of nuclear medicine equipment and relevant statutory regulations.
