What You’ll Do
- Participate in the teaching and training of medical students and interns.
- Provide clinical services in the Acute Surgical Care Initiative (ASCI) unit.
- Supervise and mentor interns and junior medical staff.
- Manage after-hours calls and participate in the commuted overtime system.
- Engage with referrals from various departments to ensure seamless patient care.
- Optimize peri-operative patient care and manage complex medical cases.
- Collect and analyze data for service improvement initiatives.
What You’ll Need
- Appropriate qualification for registration with the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA) as a Medical Practitioner.
- Registration with the HPCSA as a Medical Practitioner.
- Grade 1: No experience required post-registration for South African qualified employees; 1 year post-registration for foreign qualified employees.
- Grade 2: Minimum of 5 years’ experience as a Medical Practitioner post-registration for South African qualified employees; 6 years for foreign qualified employees.
- Grade 3: Minimum of 10 years’ experience as a Medical Practitioner post-registration for South African qualified employees; 11 years for foreign qualified employees.
- Clinical competency in managing unstable patients and peri-operative care.
- Resilience and capability to work in challenging environments.
- Computer literacy and interest in data-driven service improvements.
