About the Role
The Department of Cultural Affairs and Sport is looking for a dedicated Library Material Processor to join their team in the vibrant city of Cape Town. In this position, you will be responsible for a variety of tasks, including counting, packing, and dispatching new library materials to regional offices. By managing item records on the Library Information Management System, you will ensure that our libraries can efficiently track resources, thereby improving the services offered to the community. What You’ll Do
- Physically process new library materials to ensure they are ready for public use
- Count, pack, and dispatch library materials to various regional offices weekly
- Enter item records accurately on the Library Information Management System
- Perform administrative duties related to the management of library materials
What You’ll Need
- A minimum of Grade 10 (Junior Certificate or equivalent qualification)
- Strong understanding of teamwork and collaboration
- Ability to follow instructions and procedures meticulously
- Commitment to delivering results that meet customer expectations
- Basic numeracy and computer literacy skills
- Good language skills for effective communication
