What You’ll Do

  • Oversee the distribution and collection of library materials, ensuring that all resources are available and accessible to patrons.
  • Provide immediate information services to library users, responding to their inquiries and assisting them in navigating available resources.
  • Market the Provincial Library’s services and organize events to promote library usage within the community.
  • Develop and implement selective dissemination of information services, catering to user needs.
  • Organize library materials according to established standards, ensuring a systematic and user-friendly environment.

What You’ll Need

  • A minimum of four years of experience in library services or a related field.
  • A Grade 12/Senior Certificate/NCV Level 4 or equivalent qualification.
  • An applicable three-year Diploma/Degree (NQF level 6 or higher) as recognized by SAQA is advantageous.
  • Proficiency in English and at least one other official language.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, alongside good interpersonal abilities.
  • Computer literacy in MS Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • A valid driver’s license for at least a light motor vehicle is a plus.
  • Ability to work under pressure and extended hours, demonstrating professionalism and accountability.
