What You’ll Do

  • Market and promote library services to the community.
  • Classify and catalogue library materials effectively.
  • Render reference and information services to library users.
  • Develop and implement new initiatives for the library.
  • Manage daily library operations and ensure efficient functioning.
  • Facilitate the establishment of book clubs and community literacy programs.
  • Conduct library orientation sessions for new users.
  • Compile monthly, quarterly, and annual reports on library usage.
  • Assist in asset verification and maintenance needs of library facilities.
  • Liaise with stakeholders and district libraries on library matters.

What You’ll Need

  • An undergraduate qualification (NQF level 6) in Library & Information Studies/Science recognized by SAQA.
  • A minimum of 2 years’ experience in a library environment.
  • A valid driver’s license (except for persons with disabilities).
  • Knowledge of Batho Pele principles and Public Service Regulations.
  • Strong administration skills including norms and standards.
  • Basic numeracy and computer literacy.
  • Excellent interpersonal relations and problem-solving abilities.
