About the Role
The National Prosecuting Authority (NPA) is seeking a dedicated Librarian to join their team in Middelburg, Mpumalanga. What You’ll Do
- Catalog and classify library materials using available databases
- Maintain an asset register for library materials, including disposals
- Renew standing orders for current publications
- Manage inter-library and intra-library loans
- Conduct periodic stock takes and keep accurate statistics
- Procure and process new materials for both head office and regional offices
- Administer loose leaf updates and materials
- Liaise with external clients to fulfill their information needs
- Assist with various information projects of the NPA
- Process requests for law reports, statutes, and reference materials
- Train clients on the use of online databases
- Prepare and submit monthly reports on library activities
What You’ll Need
- An appropriate Bachelor’s degree (NQF 7) or a three-year diploma (NQF 6)
- At least two years of relevant experience, preferably in a law library environment
- Demonstrated ability to act independently and professionally
- Proficiency in electronic library management systems, including e-Books
- Strong computer skills in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Experience with legal research tools such as Jutastat, Lexis Nexis, Sabinet, and Westlaw
- Willingness to travel as required
- A valid driver’s license
