What You’ll Do

  • Provide legal advisory services to the Office of the Premier and other provincial departments.
  • Conduct legal research and analyze legislation to formulate sound legal opinions and recommendations.
  • Consult with clients to understand their legal needs and document all consultations accurately.
  • Draft and review legal documents, including opinions, contracts, and submissions to ensure compliance.
  • Manage litigation matters and coordinate with stakeholders and legal representatives.
  • Oversee compliance with the Promotion of Access to Information Act (PAIA) and the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA).
  • Maintain accurate records and ensure effective case management throughout legal processes.

What You’ll Need

  • A Grade 12 qualification plus a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) degree or equivalent recognized by SAQA.
  • At least 2 years of appropriate post-qualification legal experience.
  • Strong legal research, analytical, and advisory skills.
  • Proven ability to interpret legislation and draft legal documents effectively.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Capable of handling complex legal matters in a government environment.
  • Professionalism, integrity, and the ability to work independently under pressure.
