What You’ll Do
- Maintain a clean and safe working environment in accordance with health and safety regulations.
- Collect and accurately record linen from various depots.
- Follow procedures for preparing, disinfecting, and washing linen.
- Inspect, mend, and maintain linen to ensure it remains in good condition.
- Operate laundry machines, including washers, dryers, and ironing equipment.
- Count, fold, and pack laundered items, sealing them in linen bags for delivery.
- Sort and record dirty linen for processing.
- Report any machine defects or issues to your supervisor.
- Monitor the temperature of laundry equipment and maintain it in proper working order.
What You’ll Need
- NQF Level 1 or 2 (ABET Level 2 certificate or equivalent).
- Basic understanding of laundry operations and equipment.
- Good communication skills with the ability to work shifts, including night shifts.
- Physical strength to manage the demands of the position.
- Honesty and reliability in all work aspects.
- Capability to work both independently and as part of a team.
