What You’ll Do

• Assist in designing and implementing community sport programs and mass participation events.
• Support the management and upkeep of sports facilities, including fields and equipment.
• Help plan and coordinate sport festivals, tournaments, and fun walks while ensuring risk management protocols are in place.
• Promote social cohesion and youth development through sport, including initiatives for crime prevention and health promotion.
• Facilitate communication between the Department of Cultural Affairs and Sport, local recreation structures, and the Department of Education.
• Compile reports on event outcomes and register athletes from schools and community hubs.
• Conduct needs analysis and capture data to enhance future programs.
• Assist with the procurement process related to sports and recreation activities.

What You’ll Need

• A National Senior Certificate/Matric Certificate/Grade 12 and a National Diploma/Degree (NQF Level 6/7) in Sport Management or Human Movement Science.
• A basic understanding of the MPP Conditional Grant framework is advantageous.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with strong presentation abilities.
• Capacity to work effectively under pressure and manage multiple tasks.
• Proficient computer skills.
• A valid code 08 driver’s license is a plus.
• South African citizenship and no prior internship program participation.
• A clean criminal record is essential.
