What You’ll Do

  • Plan and conduct inspections to ensure compliance with the Basic Conditions of Employment Act (BCEA) and other relevant labour legislation.
  • Investigate reported cases of contraventions of labour laws and prepare to appear in court as a state witness when necessary.
  • Execute proactive inspections and compile comprehensive reports based on findings.
  • Conduct advocacy campaigns to raise awareness about labour legislation and analyse the impact of these initiatives.
  • Assist in developing and maintaining regional inspection plans and contribute to statistical reporting.

What You’ll Need

  • A relevant three-year tertiary qualification in Labour Relations, BCOM Law, or LLB.
  • A valid driver’s license.
  • Knowledge of departmental policies, procedures, and various labour laws, including the BCEA, LRA, OHS Act, and Employment Equity Act.
  • Strong facilitation, planning, and organisational skills.
  • Proficiency in computer literacy and excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and negotiation skills.
