The Department of Home Affairs is looking for passionate individuals to join their team as Immigration Officers: Inspectorate in various locations across Kwa-Zulu Natal, including Eshowe, Ethekwini, Ingwavuma, Ixopo, Ugu, Umgungundlovu, Pongola, and Paulpietersburg. This vital role involves enforcing the Immigration Act and ensuring the integrity of South Africa’s borders. What You’ll Do

• Enforce the provisions of the Immigration Act 13 of 2002, ensuring compliance with legislation.
• Detect and apprehend illegal foreigners and facilitate their deportation.
• Conduct investigations related to transgressions of immigration laws and assist in law enforcement operations.
• Issue notices to appear in front of the Director-General and manage court-related evidence.
• Maintain accurate records of cases involving illegal foreigners and monitor their documentation status.
• Participate in training sessions to enhance your skills in identifying illegal immigrants and understanding departmental legislation.
• Collaborate with security agencies during operations to enhance border security.
• Support investigations and provide expert testimony in legal proceedings related to immigration matters.

What You’ll Need

• An undergraduate qualification in Law, Public Management, Public Administration, Policing, Criminology, Forensics, or Criminal Justice (NQF level 6).
• A valid driver’s license (Code B/C1/C/EC1) and a valid Public Driver Permit (PDP).
• Basic understanding of the Refugees Act and Immigration Act, as well as the South African Constitution.
• Strong problem-solving, analytical, and interpersonal skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
• A patriotic approach with a commitment to integrity and customer service.
