What You’ll Do

• Lead the strategic management of public works, roads, and transport initiatives to ensure effective service delivery.
• Oversee the implementation of the Public Finance Management Act, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation.
• Manage the provision of risk management and internal audit services within the department.
• Ensure effective management of financial, human, and physical resources according to government policies.
• Foster a culture of innovation and client orientation, enhancing service delivery to the public.
• Collaborate with various stakeholders to align departmental objectives with government strategies.

What You’ll Need

• An appropriate postgraduate qualification (NQF level 8) as recognized by SAQA.
• Minimum of 10 years’ experience at a senior management level.
• A qualification in the built environment is preferred.
• Strong capabilities in strategic leadership, people management, and financial management.
• Excellent research, networking, and interpersonal skills.
• Proven integrity and a commitment to ethical leadership.
• Understanding of the political-administrative interface and government policy dynamics.
