What You’ll Do

  • Manage and train a team of prosecutors to ensure high standards of legal practice.
  • Review case dockets and make informed decisions on the institution of criminal proceedings.
  • Prepare cases for court, including drafting charge sheets and other legal documents.
  • Present the State’s case in court, leading witnesses and cross-examining effectively.
  • Conduct prosecutions in both the Regional Court and District Court.
  • Assist in performance assessments and administrative duties of the District Court office.
  • Promote community involvement and partnerships within the criminal justice system.

What You’ll Need

  • An LLB degree or appropriate legal qualification for serving prosecutors.
  • A minimum of four years’ post-qualification legal experience.
  • Proven ability to act independently and with professionalism.
  • Strong skills in drafting complex charge sheets and other court documents.
  • Excellent management and administrative skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook).
  • High level of reliability and ability to manage confidential information.
  • Knowledge of relevant legislation, policies, and procedures in the public sector.
