What You’ll Do

  • Lead and manage the Plastic Surgery Department, ensuring efficient and cost-effective service delivery.
  • Oversee clinical governance and quality management of the Plastic Surgery services.
  • Respond to medical and legal incidents, ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations.
  • Manage human, financial, and capital resources effectively within the department.
  • Train and mentor staff, including Registrars, Medical Officers, Community Service Medical Officers, and Interns.
  • Engage in strategic planning and decision-making as part of the Hospital Executive Management team.
  • Drive continuous quality improvement and clinical risk management initiatives.

What You’ll Need

  • An appropriate qualification for registration as a Medical Specialist in Plastic Surgery with the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA).
  • A minimum of five years of relevant experience as a Medical Specialist post-registration.
  • A valid driver’s license and the ability to work commuted overtime as required.
  • Knowledge of statutory and policy frameworks relevant to healthcare, including Healthcare 2030 and the Ideal Hospital framework.
  • Proven experience in supervising staff and managing financial resources.
  • Strong computer literacy, particularly in MS Office applications.
