What You’ll Do

• Represent the anaesthesiology discipline within the District Clinical Specialist Team.
• Supervise and manage anaesthesiology services to ensure quality patient care.
• Execute clinical duties efficiently, adhering to established standards of patient care.
• Accept responsibility for managing patients admitted to level 2/3 facilities.
• Assist in the development and implementation of clinical guidelines and protocols.
• Participate in academic training programs and assist with clinical audits.
• Engage in continuous professional development and support hospital management in achieving service excellence.

What You’ll Need

• An appropriate qualification for registration with the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA) as a Medical Specialist in Anaesthesiology.
• A minimum of five years’ experience as a Medical Specialist post-registration with HPCSA.
• A valid driver’s license.
• Strong skills in multidisciplinary management and teamwork.
• Comprehensive knowledge of current health and public service regulations and policies.
• Excellent clinical assessment and management skills.
• Good communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work under pressure.
• Capacity to teach and guide junior staff within the department.
