What You’ll Do
- Oversee and manage EPWP candidates within designated work areas.
- Supervise and support subordinate staff, ensuring compliance with conduct codes.
- Control tools, materials, and equipment for daily operations.
- Maintain hospital gardens and grounds, including cleaning gutters and windows.
- Execute and monitor maintenance schedules to ensure timely completion of tasks.
- Conduct job assessments and identify necessary materials and tools.
- Provide feedback to the EPWP Project Manager upon task completion.
- Ensure cleanliness and order in work areas after job completion.
- Plan and prioritize projects based on urgency and requirements.
- Arrange weekly transport for EPWP candidates and project needs.
- Optimize material usage and manage requisitions effectively.
- Train staff on the safe use of gardening equipment and tools.
- Stay informed about new gardening techniques and materials.
What You’ll Need
- Minimum educational qualification: General Education and Training Certificate (GETC)/Grade 9 (Std 7).
- Proven experience in maintaining hospital gardens and grounds.
- Experience with cleaning gutters, windows, and similar tasks.
- A valid (Code B/EB) driver’s licence is essential.
- Ability to skilfully and safely operate required tools and equipment.
- Strong physical stamina to perform heavy labor.
- Solid supervisory and management skills.
- Proficiency in computer applications, including MS Office & MS Excel.
- Excellent problem-solving and interpersonal communication skills.
- Knowledge of gardening practices and basic garden tool handling.
- Familiarity with the Occupational Health and Safety Act 1993 and relevant regulations.
