What You’ll Do

  • Review and update the Western Cape Climate Change Response Strategy and Implementation Plan.
  • Monitor, assess, and report on the implementation of climate change responses.
  • Guide and coordinate adaptation response actions across provincial sectors.
  • Develop and support the implementation of a climate change adaptation pathway.
  • Conduct research on climate change strategies, risk assessments, and evaluation processes.
  • Facilitate presentations and workshops on climate change for various stakeholders.
  • Coordinate participation in international climate change adaptation platforms.
  • Manage projects, human resources, and financial aspects related to climate initiatives.

What You’ll Need

  • A 4-year degree (or equivalent) in Social, Natural, Physical, Environmental Sciences, or a relevant Engineering qualification.
  • A minimum of 6 years of relevant post-qualification experience.
  • A valid (Code B or higher) driving licence.
  • Knowledge of climate change adaptation policies, strategies, and environmental standards.
  • Skills in written and verbal communication, project management, and capacity building.
  • Proven computer literacy and ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
