What You’ll Do

  • Oversee the quality of food provisioning for both normal and therapeutic diets.
  • Collaborate with registered dietitians to develop patient menus that meet dietary needs.
  • Work closely with medical staff to provide individualized nutrition care and modified diets.
  • Ensure patient satisfaction with meals and resolve any complaints or concerns.
  • Compile demand plans for the food service unit and manage food inventory.
  • Order supplies using correct supply chain procedures while controlling costs.
  • Implement and maintain food safety and sanitation procedures in line with regulations.
  • Stay current with food service operations regulations and accreditation standards.
  • Address challenges within the food service department and implement effective solutions.
  • Evaluate and monitor employee performance to achieve departmental goals.

What You’ll Need

  • A National Diploma or BTech in Food Service Management/Food and Beverage Management.
  • A minimum of three years’ supervisory experience within a hospital environment.
  • Valid driver’s license to support operational needs.
  • Knowledge of national and provincial policies related to quality assurance and food safety.
  • Proficiency in computer applications and strong report-writing skills.
  • Ability to manage teams effectively and work well under pressure.
