What You’ll Do
- Render catering services by following menus and special diet plans.
- Prepare ingredients for meals, including cleaning and cutting vegetables, and preparing proteins.
- Process and cook prepared ingredients for consumption.
- Serve meals in appropriate crockery, ensuring correct portion sizes according to dietary allowances.
- Pack food delivery trolleys and ensure timely delivery to various areas within the health institution.
- Maintain a safe and hygienic environment by collecting used cutlery and crockery.
- Perform quality checks to ensure cleaning standards are met and report any hygiene issues to your supervisor.
What You’ll Need
- NQF level 1 or 2 (ABET level 2 certificate or equivalent) with no prior experience required.
- Basic knowledge of food services and food preparation techniques.
- Understanding of health and safety measures in food handling.
- Ability to operate food processing equipment accurately.
- Basic literacy skills and a keen attention to detail.
