What You’ll Do
- Render catering services by following menus and special diet plans.
- Prepare ingredients for meals, including cleaning and cutting vegetables and preparing meat, poultry, and fish.
- Process and cook prepared ingredients for consumption.
- Serve food in appropriate crockery according to dietary allowances.
- Pack food delivery trolleys and ensure timely delivery to various areas within the health facility.
- Maintain a safe and hygienic environment by collecting used cutlery and crockery and ensuring proper sanitation.
- Perform quality checks to uphold hygiene standards and report any safety issues to your supervisor.
What You’ll Need
- NQF level 1 or 2 (ABET level 2 certificate or equivalent).
- Knowledge of food services and food preparation techniques.
- Basic understanding of health and safety measures related to food handling.
- Ability to operate food processing equipment safely.
- Basic literacy skills and the ability to measure ingredients accurately.
