What You’ll Do
- Render catering services, including following menus and special diet plans.
- Prepare ingredients for meals, such as washing and cutting vegetables, and preparing various proteins.
- Cook and process ingredients for consumption while ensuring safety and hygiene standards.
- Serve prepared meals in appropriate crockery, adhering to dietary allowances.
- Pack and deliver food trolleys to designated areas within the hospital.
- Maintain cleanliness by collecting used cutlery and crockery, washing, and drying them thoroughly.
- Perform quality checks to ensure proper sanitation standards are met.
- Regularly clean food processing areas and report any hygiene or safety concerns to supervisors.
What You’ll Need
- NQF level 1 or 2 (ABET level 2 certificate or equivalent).
- Knowledge of food services and food preparation techniques.
- Familiarity with operating food processing equipment.
- Understanding of basic health and safety measures within a health environment.
- Basic literacy skills and the ability to measure ingredients accurately.
