What You’ll Do

• Prepare ingredients for meals, including cleaning and cutting vegetables and preparing various proteins.
• Process and cook ingredients according to established menus and dietary requirements.
• Serve meals using the appropriate crockery, ensuring accurate portion sizes according to dietary guidelines.
• Pack food delivery trolleys and deliver meals to designated areas within the hospital.
• Collect used cutlery and crockery from wards, ensuring that all items are returned to the kitchen.
• Maintain cleanliness and hygiene in the food processing area, conducting regular quality checks to ensure standards are met.
• Report any safety or hygiene concerns to your supervisor promptly.

What You’ll Need

• NQF Level 1 or 2 (ABET Level 2 certificate or equivalent) with no prior experience required.
• Basic knowledge of food services and food preparation processes.
• Understanding of health and safety measures, including hygiene and bacterial contamination control.
• Basic literacy skills and the ability to accurately measure food components.
• Capability to operate food processing equipment safely.
