What You’ll Do
- Prepare ingredients for meals according to established menus and special diet plans.
- Cook and process ingredients for safe consumption.
- Serve meals in appropriate crockery, ensuring portion sizes meet dietary guidelines.
- Pack food delivery trolleys and ensure meals are delivered to the correct areas within the hospital.
- Maintain a safe and hygienic environment by collecting and washing used cutlery and crockery.
- Perform regular quality checks on cleaning processes to ensure compliance with hygiene standards.
- Clean food processing areas and equipment throughout your shift to uphold safety and sanitation measures.
- Report any unhygienic or unsafe conditions to your supervisor promptly.
What You’ll Need
- NQF level 1 or 2 (ABET level 2 certificate or equivalent) is required.
- Knowledge of food services and food preparation practices.
- Understanding of basic health and safety measures related to food.
- Basic literacy skills and the ability to operate food processing equipment effectively.
- A valid driver’s license is an added advantage.
