What You’ll Do
- Process and manage waste management licenses and associated applications.
- Ensure that licenses and decisions are accurately recorded in the Electronic Document Management System (EDMS) and other relevant platforms.
- Report on the performance of the directorate concerning licensing functions.
- Screen license applications and registration requests in accordance with National Norms and Standards.
- Maintain comprehensive records of all applications, decisions, and correspondence related to licensing.
- Support the implementation of Standard Operating Procedures for the management of applications.
- Schedule and manage reviews, site visits, and meetings related to licensing and waste management.
- Develop and implement a tracking tool for waste applications to enhance management processes.
What You’ll Need
- An appropriate Honours degree (NQF8) in Natural/Environmental Sciences or a relevant qualification recognized by SAQA.
- A minimum of three years’ experience in a related field.
- Strong knowledge of environmental policies, legislation, and regulation development, particularly in waste and pollution management.
- Understanding of licensing processes and the National Waste Management Strategy.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and the capacity to manage conflict effectively.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
