What You’ll Do

  • Administer land use applications, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation.
  • Conduct thorough inspections and assessments of land use and township development applications.
  • Manage old order rights applications, including re-registration, transfer, modification, and abandonment processes.
  • Provide expert advice and respond to inquiries from external stakeholders regarding surface land rights applications.
  • Compile records of decision (ROD) letters with recommendations for approval.
  • Maintain and update the surface land rights applications register and associated databases.

What You’ll Need

  • A Bachelor’s degree or Advanced diploma in Town and Regional Planning, Economics, Development Studies, Public Administration, Business Administration, Local Economic Development, or a related field (NQF 7).
  • A valid driver’s license and at least two years of relevant experience in the field of Mineral Regulation.
  • A general understanding of the mining industry and relevant legislation, including the Mineral and Petroleum Resources Development Act (MPRDA).
  • Strong skills in map interpretation, communication, report writing, research, and stakeholder relations.
  • The ability to conduct thorough research and identify conflicts between surface development and mining titles.
