What You’ll Do

  • Administer and evaluate land use applications to ensure compliance with legal requirements
  • Conduct thorough inspections and audits on land use and township development applications
  • Manage the re-registration, transfer, modification, and abandonment of old order rights applications
  • Provide expert advice and handle enquiries related to surface land rights applications from external stakeholders
  • Compile and maintain records of decision (ROD) letters with recommendations for approval
  • Keep the surface land rights applications register books and databases updated and accurate

What You’ll Need

  • A Bachelor’s degree or Advanced Diploma in Town and Regional Planning, Economics, Development Studies, Public Administration, Business Administration, Local Economic Development, or Environmental Resource Economics (NQF 7)
  • A valid driver’s license
  • At least 2 years of relevant experience in the field of Mineral Regulation
  • Strong understanding of mining legislation, including the MPRDA and related policies
  • Excellent communication and computer skills, with the ability to interpret maps and conduct research
  • Strong analytical thinking skills to identify conflicts between surface development and mining titles
