What You’ll Do

  • Lead and provide strategic direction for the district’s social service initiatives.
  • Develop and implement business plans that align with the department’s strategic objectives.
  • Ensure the effective implementation of policies, norms, and standards for social services.
  • Foster partnerships with stakeholders to enhance service delivery.
  • Manage integrated community development services within the district.
  • Oversee the provision of population and information development services.
  • Monitor and implement developmental social welfare services to meet community needs.
  • Strengthen the technical capabilities of NGOs to enhance program effectiveness.
  • Administer financial support services in accordance with relevant legislation.
  • Manage district resources efficiently and in compliance with directives.
  • Coordinate with relevant stakeholders for the provision of integrated services.

What You’ll Need

  • An appropriate qualification at NQF Level 7 as recognized by SAQA.
  • A minimum of five years of proven experience in a middle or senior managerial role.
  • Completion of the SMS pre-entry program required before appointment.
  • A valid motor vehicle driver’s license (exceptions apply to persons with disabilities).
  • Strong competencies in strategic capability, leadership, and program management.
  • Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
  • Knowledge of the legislative framework governing the public service.
