What You’ll Do

  • Develop and maintain efficient systems to enhance office operations.
  • Oversee the flow of information and documents to and from the Chief Director’s office.
  • Ensure the safekeeping and organization of all documentation.
  • Verify responses on matters received from internal and external stakeholders.
  • Prepare complex documentation and advise the Chief Director on significant issues.
  • Coordinate and report on cross-cutting matters for effective decision-making.
  • Provide comprehensive secretarial and administrative support to the Chief Directorate.
  • Follow up on submissions from provincial departments and municipalities.
  • Assist in rolling out departmental projects, including feedback and early warnings.

What You’ll Need

  • An appropriate 3-year tertiary qualification (National Diploma/B-Degree) or higher.
  • A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in a similar role.
  • Strong knowledge of regulatory frameworks, policies, and best practices.
  • Familiarity with information systems for effective management of knowledge.
  • Understanding of project management principles and practices.
  • Competence in operational management, procurement, and tendering processes.
  • Awareness of public finance, human resources, and performance management.
  • Insight into the political, economic, and social issues affecting the Western Cape.
