About the Role
The National Prosecuting Authority is seeking a dedicated District Court Control Prosecutor to join its team in Modimolle (Northam) or Mthatha (Lusikisiki). What You’ll Do
- Conduct thorough studies of case dockets to prepare for prosecution.
- Make informed decisions on the institution of criminal proceedings.
- Draft charge sheets and legal documents effectively.
- Represent the State in all court appearances and proceedings.
- Lead witness testimonies, cross-examine, and deliver closing arguments.
- Perform general administrative duties for the office.
- Foster partnerships and promote community involvement in the criminal justice space.
- Act in accordance with the Code of Conduct, Policies, and Directives of the National Prosecuting Authority.
What You’ll Need
- An LLB degree or equivalent legal qualification for serving prosecutors seeking promotion.
- At least four years of post-qualification legal experience.
- Proven ability to work independently and with minimal supervision.
- Strong skills in prosecuting or litigation, particularly in regional court matters.
- Excellent interpersonal, analytical, presentation, and project management skills.
- Valid driver’s license.
