What You’ll Do
- Develop, review, and monitor the implementation of youth development policies and frameworks.
- Design and implement innovative programs and interventions aimed at empowering the youth.
- Coordinate and facilitate partnerships with stakeholders to enhance youth development initiatives.
- Manage the Directorate’s budget, human resources, and performance to ensure compliance with regulations.
- Conduct regular assessments and report on the effectiveness of youth development programs.
- Lead a team and foster a collaborative working environment to achieve departmental goals.
What You’ll Need
- An appropriate NQF level 7 qualification in Development Studies or Social Sciences, recognized by SAQA.
- At least 5 years of experience in middle or senior management roles within the relevant field.
- Strong knowledge of the South African Constitution and relevant public service legislation.
- Familiarity with the White Paper on Social Welfare and the Anti-Poverty Strategy.
- Understanding of the National Development Plan (NDP) and related youth policies.
- Proven competencies in program and project management, financial management, and stakeholder engagement.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with strong analytical and critical thinking abilities.

Requirements
An appropriate NQF level 7 qualification in the field of Development Studies/ Social Sciences as recognised by SAQA Plus 5 years’ experience at middle/ senior management in the relevant field.Knowledge of the Constitution of South Africa.
Knowledge of the relevant Public Service Act and Regulation.
Knowledge and understanding of White Paper on Social Welfare.
Knowledge and understanding of Anti-Poverty Strategy.
Knowledge of the Public Service Legislative frameworks.

Job Duties
Manage the development, review, and monitor the implementation of policies, frameworks, guidelines related to youth development.Develop and implement programmes and interventions for youth development.
Coordinate and facilitate stakeholder participation, partnerships, and the integration of youth development programmes.
Manage and report on the budget, human resources, and performance of the Directorate in line with the set regulations and prescripts.
