What You’ll Do

  • Manage investigations and facilitate requests for land rights restitution.
  • Provide strategic leadership and overall management of land claims.
  • Oversee the quality of service delivery in investigating claims.
  • Conduct research and manage outstanding land claims.
  • Lead project management for the settlement of land claims.
  • Ensure compliance with standard operating procedures throughout the settlement cycle.
  • Develop and implement strategic plans for the Commissioner.
  • Facilitate negotiations with private investors and claimants for settlements.
  • Manage operational staff performance and work plans.
  • Enhance intergovernmental relations and stakeholder communications.
  • Maintain and manage statistical information related to land claims.

What You’ll Need

  • Grade 12 Certificate and a Bachelor’s Degree or Advanced Diploma in Law, Agriculture, Economics, Social Sciences, Development Studies, or a related field (NQF Level 7).
  • A Nyukela certificate (Pre-entry Certificate to the SMS) to be submitted prior to appointment.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience at middle or senior managerial level.
  • In-depth knowledge of land reform or rural development processes.
  • Understanding of budget processes and financial management systems.
  • Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Project management experience and capabilities.
  • A valid driver’s license.
