What You’ll Do
- Provide expert support to municipalities in developing and implementing Local Economic Development strategies.
- Assist in the establishment of vibrant LED structures within municipalities.
- Monitor and evaluate the implementation of LED programs and their impact on local communities.
- Mobilize and coordinate support from both public and private sectors for municipal LED initiatives.
- Develop and implement capacity-building programs to enhance local economic development capabilities.
What You’ll Need
- A recognized Advanced Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree at NQF Level 7 or an equivalent qualification in Local Economic Development, Development Planning, Economics, or a related field.
- A minimum of 5 years’ experience at a middle or senior managerial level in a relevant field.
- A solid understanding of government programs and local government legislation.
- Familiarity with community employment programs and outcome-based approaches in local government planning.
- Pre Entry SMS or Nyukela Certificate is required prior to appointment.
- A valid driver’s license.
- Strong strategic capability and leadership skills, along with financial and change management expertise.
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, and project management abilities.
