The Department of the Premier is seeking a dedicated and strategic professional for the position of Director: ICT Schools Support in Cape Town. This pivotal role not only oversees the management and delivery of essential ICT services to Western Cape Government (WCG) schools but also plays a vital part in shaping the educational landscape for learners across the province. What You’ll Do
- Provide strategic management and guidance on the rollout and maintenance of ICT infrastructure and services at WCG schools.
- Oversee the service desk operations, ensuring timely support and user access management for schools.
- Lead the development and management of the Directorate’s strategic and business plans.
- Foster a culture of innovation and excellence within the Directorate and the Department.
- Recruit, develop, and manage staff to achieve the Directorate’s objectives effectively.
- Ensure compliance with relevant legislation and maintain appropriate record-keeping practices.
- Manage the Directorate’s budget and financial accountability, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives.
What You’ll Need
- An appropriate qualification at NQF level 7, as recognized by SAQA.
- A minimum of 5 years’ experience in a middle or senior managerial level.
- Successful completion of the Certificate for entry into the Senior Management Service (SMS) prior to appointment.
- Proven knowledge of legislation and regulatory frameworks affecting ICT in education.
- Strong leadership, planning, and organizational skills.
- Excellent executive-level advisory and communication skills.
