What You’ll Do

  • Lead the strategic management process for the department, ensuring alignment with national and provincial goals.
  • Coordinate the drafting of the Department’s strategic and annual performance plans.
  • Facilitate the development and implementation of operational plans and performance reviews.
  • Oversee departmental governance and compliance with relevant legislation and policies.
  • Manage financial resources and participate in the budgeting process to ensure effective allocation of funds.
  • Foster a culture of innovation and excellence within the Directorate and provide guidance to staff.
  • Engage with oversight bodies and manage departmental reporting on performance and compliance.

What You’ll Need

  • An appropriate qualification at NQF level 7 as recognized by SAQA.
  • A minimum of 5 years’ experience at a middle/senior managerial level.
  • Proven knowledge of strategic management processes and government planning cycles.
  • Strong skills in strategic planning, communication, and people management.
  • Ability to develop networks and facilitate processes effectively.
  • Competence in financial management and compliance with relevant legislation.
