What You’ll Do

• Develop and maintain comprehensive curriculum and training units for correctional services.
• Ensure all training programs align with organizational objectives and occupational standards.
• Conduct regular reviews of training curricula to keep them relevant and competency-based.
• Coordinate workshops with experts to enhance curriculum development.
• Provide support to training units on curriculum implementation and interpretation.
• Manage the scheduling and administration of basic training across various centres.
• Oversee the monitoring and evaluation of training programs to assess quality and effectiveness.
• Facilitate experiential learning phases in accordance with learnership guidelines.
• Ensure compliance with the Firearms Control Act in firearm training curricula.
• Conduct risk assessments to ensure safety and security standards are met.

What You’ll Need

• An undergraduate qualification (NQF level 7) in Human Resources Development, Human Resource Management, or an equivalent field.
• At least five years of middle or senior management experience in a related area.
• A certificate for entry into the Senior Management Services (SMS) from the National School of Government is mandatory.
• Security clearance and a valid driver’s license are required.
• Strong understanding of the South African Criminal Justice System and Correctional Services architecture.
• Proficiency in public service policy and related legislative frameworks.
