What You’ll Do
- Provide strategic leadership for business development and growth within the Departmental Construction Unit.
- Oversee the preparation, review, and submission of bids, tenders, and proposals.
- Monitor industry trends and legislative changes to inform decision-making.
- Manage stakeholder engagement and partnership negotiations to foster collaboration.
- Develop and implement the Directorate’s strategic and operational plans and budgets.
- Lead human resource management, including performance management and skills development.
- Enhance relationships with clients and industry stakeholders to improve service delivery.
- Identify and evaluate construction business opportunities for the Directorate.
- Ensure compliance with relevant legislation and governance frameworks.
- Monitor business development performance and introduce continuous improvement initiatives.
What You’ll Need
- A Bachelor’s Degree or Advanced Diploma (NQF Level 7) in Business Management or Civil Engineering.
- A postgraduate qualification in Business Management or Engineering Management or an MBA is advantageous.
- A minimum of five years’ experience at middle/senior management level in an infrastructure delivery environment.
- A Nyukela Public Service SMS Pre-entry certificate is required.
- Knowledge of PFMA, PPPFA, CIDB, and SCM legislation is essential.
- Proven experience in procurement management and infrastructure/construction business development.
- Strong skills in stakeholder relationship management and marketing client services.
- Experience with negotiation, networking, and project management.
- Competence in risk management and business performance systems.
- Excellent presentation and report writing skills, along with people management abilities.
