What You’ll Do

  • Oversee the daily operations of correctional centres and community corrections.
  • Manage the administration of security systems and conduct risk assessments to ensure safety.
  • Implement policies and procedures effectively within the management area.
  • Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders and community members.
  • Supervise the court appearances of remand detainees and manage associated operational risks.
  • Oversee human resources, finances, and asset management within the area of responsibility.
  • Promote social development initiatives for offenders and parolees.

What You’ll Need

  • An undergraduate qualification (NQF level 7) in Public Administration, Law, Criminology, Criminal Justice, Social Sciences, or an equivalent qualification as recognized by SAQA.
  • A certificate for entry into the Senior Management Services (SMS) from the National School of Government (NSG).
  • A minimum of five years of experience at a middle/senior managerial level.
  • Proficiency in computer applications and a valid driver’s license.
  • In-depth knowledge of the South African Criminal Justice System and Correctional Services framework.
  • Strong leadership, project management, and financial management skills.
