What You’ll Do

  • Develop and implement sectoral strategies and plans to promote tourism growth.
  • Facilitate the execution of programs that support the tourism industry.
  • Manage projects involving collaboration between public and private sector stakeholders.
  • Contribute to policy development and strategic planning within the tourism sector.
  • Oversee and assess the impact of the Tourism Growth Strategy.
  • Support municipalities in developing local economic development programs.
  • Provide economic intelligence to aid in planning and decision-making.
  • Collect, organize, and analyze data to support tourism sector growth.
  • Design and conduct research aligned with tourism development goals.
  • Manage resources effectively in accordance with relevant legislation.

What You’ll Need

  • An NQF 6 qualification in Tourism, Tourism Management, Public Management, or a related field.
  • A minimum of five years’ experience in the tourism sector, public service, or research and planning, with at least three years at a supervisory level.
  • A valid driver’s license (exemptions apply for persons with disabilities).
  • Strong knowledge of the legislative framework governing the Public Service.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Strategic and analytical thinking abilities.
  • Proven financial management and conflict resolution skills.
  • Proficient in project and program management.
  • Experience in policy formulation and risk management.
  • Computer literacy and stakeholder management expertise.
