The Department of Tourism is seeking a dedicated Bookings & Reservation Officer to join their team at the Head Office in Polokwane. What You’ll Do
- Manage and process all booking inquiries through various channels.
- Provide detailed information about accommodation, activities, and community projects.
- Update and manage the reservation system, including guest preferences.
- Coordinate with resort staff to ensure activity and accommodation availability.
- Send booking confirmations, invoices, and pre-arrival communication to guests.
- Handle cancellations, changes, and no-shows in accordance with policy.
- Assist in managing partnerships with booking agents and tourism boards.
- Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly booking reports for management.
What You’ll Need
- An NQF 6 qualification in Tourism Management, Hospitality Management, Business Management, or equivalent.
- Two to three years of experience in bookings and reservations or in a front office role within a lodge, resort, or eco-tourism setting.
- Valid driver’s license (with exceptions for persons with disabilities).
- Strong computer literacy and analytical skills.
- Excellent communication and customer relations management skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and handle conflict effectively.
