The Department of Public Service and Administration is seeking a dedicated and experienced individual for the role of Deputy Director: Supply Chain Management based in Centurion. This important position is vital for ensuring that the Supply Chain Management (SCM) function of the Judicial Inspectorate for Correctional Services (JICS) operates efficiently and effectively. The person in this role will play a crucial part in managing various aspects of procurement, contract management, and compliance, ultimately contributing to the effective delivery of public services that benefit the community.

What You’ll Do
- Coordinate the Supply Chain Management function, ensuring compliance with applicable legislation and prescripts.
- Manage procurement planning, bid administration, and supplier performance.
- Oversee contract administration, asset verification, and inventory control.
- Ensure accurate SCM records, registers, and reporting.
- Monitor compliance with the Public Finance Management Act (PFMA) and related regulations.
- Identify SCM risks and implement corrective measures.
- Provide guidance and support to end users and management on SCM processes.
- Participate in internal and external audit processes, providing necessary information and maintaining financial records.
- Supervise staff and manage performance to ensure effective operations.
What You’ll Need
- Grade 12 (Senior Certificate) and a Bachelor’s degree or Advanced Diploma (NQF 7) in Supply Chain Management, Logistics Management, or related fields.
- A minimum of 5 years’ experience in Supply Chain Management, with at least 3 years at a supervisory level.
- Experience in public sector procurement processes and contract management.
- Strong skills in financial management, leadership, negotiation, and stakeholder management.
- Proficient in report writing, analytical thinking, and project management.
