About the Role
The Office of the Chief Justice (OCJ) is seeking a dedicated individual for the role of Deputy Director: Strategic Planning based in Midrand. This position plays a crucial role in shaping the strategic direction of the OCJ, impacting the public service and the judicial system across South Africa. By facilitating the development and approval of strategic and operational plans, you will directly contribute to the effective management and operational excellence of the judiciary system, ensuring justice is accessible and efficiently delivered to all South Africans.
In this pivotal role, you will engage in comprehensive situational analyses and develop strategies that align with national goals, reinforcing the OCJ’s commitment to transparency and accountability. Your work will not only influence the internal workings of the OCJ but will also resonate throughout the community, ensuring that the judicial service remains responsive and effective in meeting the needs of the public.

What You’ll Do
- Facilitate the development and approval of the OCJ’s Strategic and Annual Performance Plans.
- Create circulars, timeframes, and templates for performance planning.
- Assist in coordinating strategy and service delivery planning processes, including performance reporting and monitoring institutional targets.
- Conduct situational analyses to identify goals, objectives, and stakeholder engagement for the OCJ.
- Manage the Sub Directorate, overseeing performance and development, as well as administrative functions.
What You’ll Need
- A National Diploma in Strategic Management, Corporate Governance, Social Sciences, Development Studies, Economic Science, Public Administration, or a relevant qualification at NQF level 6.
- A minimum of five years’ experience, including at least three years in a Junior Management role within a strategic planning environment.
- A valid driver’s license is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of National Treasury prescripts, public finance legislation, and the Public Service Act and Regulations.
- Advanced skills in computer literacy, communication, financial management, project management, and report writing.
