What You’ll Do

• Coordinate and organize school sport programs and events, ensuring smooth operations and participation.
• Manage recreation programs, including events for various demographics, particularly the elderly, and establish recreation councils in municipalities.
• Support and collaborate with sport federations and stakeholders, enhancing community involvement and capacity building.
• Facilitate the development of community sport initiatives and provide technical expertise to support local sport structures.
• Conduct risk management for events, ensuring compliance with safety regulations and preventing potential issues.

What You’ll Need

• A Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree (NQF level 06/07) in Sport Management, Sport Sciences, Sport Administration, or a related qualification recognized by SAQA.
• At least three to five years of experience in the sport and recreation environment, with a minimum of three years at the Assistant Director level or equivalent.
• A valid driver’s license (with exceptions for persons with disabilities).
• Strong knowledge of public service administration procedures, Batho Pele Principles, and relevant legislation.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, problem-solving, and planning skills, with proficiency in report writing and computer literacy.
