About the Role
The Department of Public Service and Administration is seeking a dedicated and experienced Deputy Director for the Secretariat of the House of Traditional Leaders, based in Polokwane, Limpopo. This pivotal role is fundamental to the effective functioning of traditional governance in the province. What You’ll Do
- Manage and coordinate activities of the executive committee of the Houses of Traditional Leaders.
- Monitor and oversee the activities of various portfolio committees.
- Implement legislation and programs relevant to the functions of the Houses.
- Facilitate the establishment of provincial and local houses.
- Organize and manage sittings of local and provincial house members.
- Maintain cooperative intergovernmental relations with the department and stakeholders.
What You’ll Need
- A Matric certificate plus an undergraduate qualification (NQF Level 6) in Public Management, Office Administration, Public Administration and Governance, or a related field recognized by SAQA.
- A minimum of 5 years’ experience in a relevant environment, with at least 3 years at Assistant Director or Junior Management level.
- A valid driver’s license (with exceptions for persons with disabilities).
- In-depth knowledge of the legislative framework governing public service, including the Public Service Act and Labour Relations Act.
- Strong competencies in people management, project management, financial management, client orientation, and problem-solving.
