What You’ll Do

  • Provide logistical support for research projects led by principal investigators.
  • Organize and facilitate planning meetings prior to expeditions.
  • Manage budgets and facilitate the approval process for supply orders.
  • Ensure timely procurement and packing of supplies for expeditions.
  • Oversee effective warehouse management, including cargo clearing and forwarding.
  • Ensure compliance with environmental regulations relevant to operations.
  • Coordinate the recruitment and training of expedition members.
  • Manage operations at research base stations to support scientific endeavors.
  • Analyze reports from research bases and provide management with actionable feedback.
  • Draft and review policy documents related to operations and base management.
  • Consult with stakeholders on matters impacting logistics and operations.
  • Support the management of search and rescue operations as required.

What You’ll Need

  • National Diploma or Degree in Shipping & Logistics, Maritime Studies, Operations & Logistics, or an equivalent qualification.
  • A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience, with at least 3 years in a junior managerial role.
  • Strong knowledge of logistics management and business practices.
  • Familiarity with Maritime/Shipping Logistics, including customs rules.
  • Proven ability to develop and implement logistics management systems.
  • Experience in policy development and stakeholder engagement.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a focus on problem-solving.
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage conflicts effectively.
  • A commitment to ethical conduct and responsible asset management.
