What You’ll Do

  • Monitor the policy and legislative framework to incorporate new developments in financial management.
  • Develop and maintain financial policies and procedures to ensure compliance and effectiveness.
  • Oversee cash flow management and prepare necessary reports and plans as required.
  • Provide advice and guidance on forecasting usage to relevant role players.
  • Manage and quality assure the budget preparation process.
  • Coordinate and review management accounting reporting processes, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
  • Assess and develop proposals for roll-over requests and budget adjustments based on expenditure trends.
  • Facilitate communication arrangements within the team and across departments.
  • Develop and manage the operational plan of the sub-directorate, reporting on progress.
  • Participate in transverse task teams and manage procurement and asset management tasks.

What You’ll Need

  • A Senior Certificate, along with a Bachelor’s degree or Advanced Diploma in Financial Management or Accounting (NQF level 7).
  • A minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in management accounting at a supervisory or management level.
  • Strong knowledge of financial regulations, including the Public Finance Management Act (PFMA) and related legislation.
  • Skills in policy analysis, financial management, problem-solving, and effective communication.
  • Proficiency in report writing, strategic planning, and team collaboration.
  • Good computer literacy and time management abilities.
