What You’ll Do
- Coordinate and monitor the implementation of grievance rules and procedures.
- Advise the Head of Department (HOD) on grievances, misconduct, and dispute resolutions.
- Conduct surveys on the status of grievance and disciplinary procedures.
- Collect and analyze statistics on grievances and disputes to identify trends.
- Compile comprehensive reports on grievances and misconduct for management review.
- Develop and recommend intervention strategies to address challenges in labour relations.
- Facilitate and manage grievances and misconduct cases within the department.
- Organize and lead capacity-building sessions on grievance rules and procedures.
- Oversee the implementation of collective agreements and monitor compliance.
- Manage public service industrial action and develop contingency plans to mitigate impact.
What You’ll Need
- An NQF level 6 qualification in Labour Relations or a related field recognized by SAQA.
- A minimum of 5 years’ relevant experience, including 3 years at a junior managerial level in Labour Relations Management.
- A valid driver’s license (with exceptions for individuals with disabilities).
- Comprehensive knowledge of the legislative framework governing the public service.
- Strong analytical, research, and report writing skills.
- Excellent negotiation, leadership, and project management abilities.
- Proficiency in computer operations and capacity development.
