What You’ll Do

  • Coordinate the implementation and daily administration of websites managed by GCIS.
  • Oversee content management to ensure accuracy, relevance, and accessibility.
  • Monitor website functionality and user experience, addressing any issues as they arise.
  • Support improvements in website structure, navigation, and compliance with editorial standards.
  • Provide advisory services to government departments regarding digital content management.
  • Compile reports on website performance, challenges, and opportunities for enhancement.
  • Manage correspondence and stakeholder requests related to website content.
  • Assist with digital projects and online communication activities as needed.

What You’ll Need

  • A National Diploma (NQF 6) in Journalism, Media Studies, Multimedia Studies, Communication, or a related field.
  • Four years of relevant experience, including two years at a junior management level.
  • Experience with website content management and digital publishing tools.
  • Excellent writing and editing skills in English, with strong attention to detail.
  • Knowledge of government communication standards and online audience engagement.
  • Strong interpersonal and stakeholder engagement abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively under pressure.
  • Proficiency in more than one South African official language is advantageous.
