What You’ll Do

  • Facilitate and coordinate the implementation of new works, repairs, and renovations.
  • Allocate tasks and oversee projects related to existing and new works.
  • Monitor project expenditures and attend monthly project meetings with stakeholders.
  • Update the Works Control System and provide reports and estimates to management.
  • Ensure accuracy of tender documents, specifications, and bills of quantities.
  • Promote SMMEs, BBBEE initiatives, and the Extended Public Works Programme (EPWP).
  • Administer contracts and resolve disputes effectively.
  • Compile project documentation and provide technical guidance to contractors.
  • Monitor the performance of contractors and ensure compliance with legislation.
  • Certify claims for fees and process variation orders.

What You’ll Need

  • A minimum of National Diploma (T/N/S streams) in Building/Civil or equivalent, OR N3 with a passed trade test in the building environment, OR registration as an engineering technician with over 6 years of relevant experience.
  • A valid driver’s license.
  • Knowledge of the Occupational Health and Safety Act, National Building Regulations, and the built environment.
  • Proficiency in computer literacy, technical report writing, and project management.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to manage relationships, negotiate, and solve problems effectively.
  • Resourceful and self-motivated with a commitment to quality control and efficient workflow.
